September / Most of October September and the majority of October was windless ! Both months without any rain, so it was like the summer we never had. With the lack of normal prevailing South Westerlies we had mainly either complete claim or Easterlies so that meant we got a lot of sick surf, Day after day of surfing ! Weather has not been great of late for windsurfing or Surfing round here, some nice sunshine mixed in with a lot of rain. The odd small swell but nothing to get excited about. New Kit !  We now have gotten lots of shiny new kit Boards Quatro Pyramid. We now have 78 and 86. Thank you very much to  zero gravity for the support.  Weather here has been rubbish, so we have not had much sailing on them.  I sailed the 86 and Finn sailed the 76 the first day we got them in windy 4.7 wether and i had a sweet 5 knot session in perfet shoulder high DTL  . Only sailed them twice not so not had much time to    give  a proper impression other than the 86 was a bit over fined with the stock  18cm + 10cm side fins  in the windy weather and small surf. Second sail  on the 86 in  wind set up with smaller K4s felt much nicer.  Had thought about going for the 92L as our big board, but the 86 has loads of float. So wha...

This summer I spent 3 weeks training in El Medano, Tenerife. Now that I have retuned I finally have some time to do some typing. I sailed 2 to 3 times everyday for 3 weeks in  a good mix of sailing from very marginal  5.0 flat to hanging on to my 4.0 wishing I had brought my 3.3 ! Big thanks to Julian Salmonn for letting me stay with him for the first week. Really good to have a local contact and ripper as a friend. This is all my packing that I hauled to Tenerife by myself.  New sails Luckly for me these beauties arrived just before I packed my bags. I got a 4.2, 4.7 and a 5.0 and I must say I love them ! They are fantastic to sail, They feel so light and responsive, Plus they are nice and bright !! I am really looking forward to trying them out with the new 3 batten option while "proper 'wave sailing at home. Big thanks to Jeremy at Jamie Knox for getting them to me before I left. Injury Blues The reason Im writing this is because I am now stuck at home, I can't go Surfing windsurfing or even Skating boarding which really sucks !  The Reason for this is I inured my back about a month ago. It happened  whilst jumping on my trampoline at home, I just had an awkward landing on a front flip. Turns out I Hyper-Extended a muscle in my back. The phsiyo also said I was in Danger of tearing my hip flexor because the muscles In my back are too tight and not moving correctly and this puts great pressure on my Hip Flexors. The whole idea of sitting out from any sailing was all rather annoying as I wanted to get back onto the water and put in some jump training  for the PWA. So after about 2 weeks my back was at the stage where I could just about go Surfing and Windsurfing without that much discomfort.  That was until two days ago, we had a really windy Pozo style jumping day at Stony Gap which I was pretty excited for as we don't often sail in Onsho...

Recent Months It has been while since I uploaded a blog post, So i do apologise and hope to get back into the swing of uploading regularly again, So in the post I will just talk about the last few months and what I have gotten up too !  I finished my school year on the 14th of May ! My parents and I went to Southwold, England to visit other family members but Dad and I spending a week off the water wasn't good ? We found a way around this problem by borrowing a blow up Paddle board to paddle and explore all of the rivers and estuaries around where we stayed  I have had a lots of sailing and very little surfing over this past month,We also spent quite a lot of time filming our sailing, I will include the final edit in my next Blog Post, But for now here is one wave that Niall (My Dad) and I had together, Who do you think gets the better wave ? Epic Easter !  This year Easter was pretty epic ! The Sun shined everyday and the Surf Pumped everyday ! I had 2 weeks of school, One of those weeks was spent in England seeing other family and the other week was spent on the beach !  During the 8 days of my Easter holiday which i was in Ireland for I had 16 sessions in the water ! Some days I had up to 4 sessions . This consisted of both Surfing and windsurfing, Each sail or surf was at least 2 hours long ! Finn Mellon GoPro Sailing Video This Easter i decided to video one of my sailing sessions and edit it into a little video,  I used my New K4 Harness mount to get the angle and a GoPro to recorded. IWA Brandon Bay Windsurfing event 2015 The first wave event of the Irish Windsurfing Association’s year took place on the 29th of March, and was supported by Jamie Knox. We had fantastic conditions for the event, which was a great relief to get 2015 of to a great start. Last year the IWA had 4 events but neither one was run due to the lack of wind on each date which was is very odd for the west coast of ireland not to have wind at least on one of the dates. We had a good forecast for the weekend of the event. The day before the event was super windy, I sailed fully powered up on a 3.3 sail as did most of the others sailing that day, at Gowlane. After a quick briefing at Jamie’s shop it was off to Fermoyle which was clean head high sideshore and Blowing ! I quickly rigged up my 3.3, 3.6 and 4.0 GA Sails, Which was a first for any comp I have done!
